Corner desk is one of modern furniture kinds which usually choosen for someone whose want work at home. The placement at corner of room then the corner desk need special shape and dimension to build. Of course we can use old dining table which has been retired with some modification, but for our comfortable works we must think a better one. It is a table I built years ago as a dining table that has since been retired. It works. Don’t worry about the difficulties and how to buid it by your self, because most of home workers always need a high value with a minimal budget, right? The fact, the building corner desk project is pretty simple. The core of this project is only create a desk that attached to the wall, because it can be more efficient in using materials.
The first thing that must we do is prepare the tools and materials to get started.

Second is measuring and cutting works; we must measure the corner and determined the length of the shelving, and then cut the shelving taking care to place the wood with the good side up for a smooth cut from the table saw. Slow and steady is always a good idea when cutting anything on the table saw. After cutting the shelving then set them to the side and moved on to the supports and the desk itself.

Third, mark the location of the upright supports on each shelf, two for each one. After that, also mark the walls using a stud finder. Corner computer desks can be free standing or attached. We can chose to attach to the uprights that also supported the shelves. Taking care to attach the uprights to the studs in the walls gives a much sturdier desk.
In this step we already finished the edges with solid wood trim. It may looks pretty nice for what it is. Until we can really build the nice stand alone furniture piece, we may really think this will do nicely. Maybe someday we like to construct a nice large oak desk with all the bells and whistles, shelves, drawers and pullout surfaces. But, for now, this set up is great. Corner desks are great as space savers and having shelving above them really gives lots of storage. When it is time to move it, all we have to do is disassemble a few pieces and it’s ready to go.
